Linking to an Anchor in a Document
To create a link to another location in the same document:
The link you've created will work on both the View Document page and its printer-friendly window.
- Open an editbox for the location you want to be able to link to. Be sure that "Source" is not selected.
- Place the cursor at the location you want to be able to link to.
- Click the "Anchor" icon, which looks like a flag.
- Enter a name for the anchor.
- Save that editbox.
- Open an editbox for the location you want to be able to link from. Again be sure that "Source" is not selected.
- Highlight the text or image you want to be able to link from.
- Click the "Link" icon, which looks like a link in a chain.
- If the anchor is in the same editbox, select Link Type "Link to anchor in text", and then select the anchor either "By Anchor Name" or "By Element Id".
- If the anchor is in a different editbox, select Link Type "URL", and then enter a pound sign ("#"), followed by the anchor name, as the URL. Note: If you forget the pound sign, the link will not work correctly.
- Save that editbox.
